Grab a paddle and join us on a canoe adventure in one of Laplandโ€™s unknown wilderness areas.
Pรคrlรคlvens (the Pearl river) Nature Reserve is one of Swedenโ€™s last forest areas without any roads. This is an area that not many tourists have found yet, most people travelling here is local people. A wonderful landscape with small mountains rising above the old forest.
All the equipment as tents, food, cookers etc. are transported in our canoes. Every evening we set a camp on the beach near by the lake. When we make shorter hiking tours up in the surroundings we only bring daypacks.
The lake Karats also offers good fishing possibilities, so we can catch both Salmon trout, pike, perch and grayling.
This is not an extreme canoe tour nor an extreme fishing tour but a great wilderness experience close to nature.

Day 1 To Karats

We meet in Jokkmokk at 9:30 AM and then go by car to Jokkmokkguiderna's place. Here we check the equipment, give you clothing advices and go through the safety. After this we drive to Karats (50 km) where we launch our canoes and head out on the lake. In the afternoon we find ourselves a nice camp site, set the camp and enjoys the evening with dinner around the campfire.

Day 2-4 Canoeing and living life in the wilderness
During the following days we will be canoeing between the low mountains, hiking through the old pine forest, exploring creeks and small lakes separated from the big lake Karats and try our luck with our fishing rods. Maybe climbing the mountain Farforita that go steep down 400 m straight into the lake.
Together we prepare all meals over open fire and outdoor stoves. After sharing our daily experiences around the camp fire we fall asleep in our mountain tents.
Important: When we fish we only take what we eat. After that we catch and release. We shall take care of the nature and not take more than we need.
We will have lots of good opportunities for photographing, study flowers/plants, fishing, bird watching and just enjoy the silence.

Day 5 Back to civilization
After breakfast we turn and paddle east. After some hours in the canoes we arrive where we started day one and we pack our gear and drive back to Jokkmokk.
We plan to be back in Jokkmokk at 4PM.
